The Uganda Youth Internet Governance Forum (UYIGF) has since 2020 been a youth platform for deliberation on Internet Governance concerns in Uganda.
The Uganda Youth Internet Governance Forum (Youth IGF) is an annual, open, and inclusive platform that brings together young people from diverse backgrounds to discuss and influence national, regional, and global internet governance policies. Aligned with the principles of the Global IGF, Africa Youth IGF, and East Africa Youth IGF this national forum ensures that young voices contribute meaningfully to shaping Uganda’s digital landscape. With rapid digital transformation, Uganda is experiencing an increase in internet penetration, digital innovation, and the adoption of emerging technologies. However, challenges such as the digital divide, cybersecurity threats, misinformation, and the exclusion of marginalized groups persist. The Youth IGF 2025 will serve as a critical space for young people to deliberate on these issues and provide actionable recommendations that influence policy and decision-making processes.
The Uganda Youth Internet Governance Forum 2025 will be held under the theme “Building Uganda’s Digital Governance Together: Youth at the Centre of Policy and Innovation” on April 29th, 2025.
