About Uganda School of Internet Governance
"Building Uganda's NextGen Digital Policy Leaders "
The Uganda School of Internet Governance (UgSIG) is an annual capacity-building fellowship program organised by the Internet Society Uganda Chapter. Launched in 2021, UgSIG was established to raise awareness and strengthen Uganda’s role in Internet governance by equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills in the field.
Program Structure and Approach
Through a structured curriculum and training sessions led by certified experts, UgSIG provides a learning platform where professionals and emerging leaders gain the tools needed to understand, contribute to, and influence the policies and norms that shape the internet.
By fostering inclusive participation through training, mentorship, and collaborative discussion, UgSIG aims to cultivate a new generation of Internet governance champions. Participants are prepared to engage actively in digital policy forums at the local, national, regional, and global levels, ultimately working to shape Uganda’s digital future and make a broader impact on the evolution of the internet.
Target Audience
The program brings together a diverse range of actors—including civil society, government representatives, the private sector, academia, and youth—to explore key digital policy issues and engage in meaningful dialogue.
