Esther Nyapendi is an Information Technologist by profession and currently serving as the Technical Support Officer at Women of Uganda Network(WOUGNET) with over 5 years of experience working at the intersection of Gender and Technology and ICT4D. Esther is a trainer in Digital literacy, Security and Safety as well as Digital Rights. She is dedicated to advocating for inclusive technology programs and passionately defends the rights of girls, women, and marginalized groups through ICT-related research and policy development.
She is a fellow of the Ugandan School of Internet Governance (2022) and an alumna of the Strengthening Advocacy and Communications on AI Ethics and Data and Digital Rights program (2023) hosted by Thomson Reuters Foundation in Nairobi. Notably, she was involved in a 2021 research project on Advancing Data Justice Research and Practices in Uganda, engaging policymakers, developers, and marginalized groups such as women and persons with disabilities.
