
Bernard Sabiti is an expert on Data Governance and Digital Development in Africa. He was one of the pioneers of the Open Data Movement in Uganda and Africa, having helped introduce the concept in several countries by helping to organise ‘Open Data Day’ in African cities and promoting Open Access to governments’ data across the Continent. He has done research and written extensively on the power and impact of making data and information accessible and useable. Bernard has worked for several Organisations working in the data and digital space including Development Initiatives, The Digital Impact Alliance and is currently a Project Coordinator at the African Population and Health Research Centre in Nairobi
