Co-founder & Exective Director, Maendeleo Foundation
Asia Kamukama is a Ugandan female with 13 years’ experience in the non-profit sector where she has designed and implemented projects improving access to basic education, digital literacy and life skills. Her work with Maendeleo Foundation, a local NGO that she cofounded has enabled her develop skills in public speaking , project design, management and collaboration, community mobilisation and change management.
She holds a degree in Development Economics from Makerere University.
A development economist by trade, Uganda’s Asia Kamukama is a Founder and Executive Director of the Maendeleo Foundation an NGO based in Uganda that promotes access to quality and equitable education and skills.
Since 2007, she has been actively involved in building Maendeleo Foundation to change lives of Ugandan children, women and young people through designing innovative and sustainable projects in basic literacy, digital literacy, women empowerment, and skills development.
She has shared her passion, knowledge, and skills for literacy, information access, technology, innovation, and community development with international audiences across Africa, America, Europe, and The Middle East.
She continues to passionately share her skills and knowledge through mentoring young leaders and entrepreneurs, delivering, workshops for community change agents such as women, teachers, librarians, community leaders, and youth groups.
